Ecotect offers a comprehensive set of tools for shadows and shading analysis. This tutorial explains how to configure and display some of the various shading options in your Ecotect model.

Successfully completing this tutorial fulfills one of the practical skills required for completing Level 2 of the Shadows and Reflections training module.
To complete this tutorial, you will need access to the ChurchHouse.eco file located in the Examples folder of your Ecotect installation.
- Open the ChurchHouse.eco file in Ecotect. The file consists of a reasonably complex 3D model.

- There are three ways you can turn shadows on or off in your model. To use the menus, go to the Display»Shadows to turn shadows on. To turn them off, go to the Display»Model menu item.
- To use the keyboard shortcuts, press F10 to turn shadows on, and F9 to turn them off. If your keyboard has a function lock feature, make sure the function keys are enabled, otherwise these keyboard shortcuts may not work.
Shadows can be turned on using the menus or function keys.
- You can also use the Shadow Settings panel to the right of the main work area. Clicking on the Display Shadows button toggles the shadow display on/off.
